FAQ added

I’ve added an FAQ to address some questions I’ve been getting over time. I’d rather not give any time estimates for implemented features since that didn’t work so well in the past… 😉 All I can say is that SuperFX is too much for me to handle at the moment so I’m going to target some lower hanging fruit for now.

Thank you for your efforts! Hope you find some free time at some point to finish all the features you want to.

Thanks for checking in, ikari. Signs of life are always appreciated LOL. Any work you can put into bug-fixes and etc is much better than nothing. As for SuperFX, it would be wonderful to see the sd2snes do it, but there are only a few games involved so really … further refinement that applies to ALL compatible games is more valuable to us, Also, some others said you’re a father now? Congratulations!

Glad to see that you’re still alive ! 😉 Congrats and good luck with you kid ^^

Work at your pace about implementing new things, its not like the snes/games will run away imo.

I still have a question, isn’t there a way out there to get “official” help from Nintendo about SuperFX, like it was the case with the “official” N64 RGB mod on FRA-001 models ?

Or maybe from Jez San ??….

Ikari, is so good to hear from you…. And you baby how is he/she? Hope she/he is very healthful and bring so much happiness for you and your family… Keep up the good work!!!!

Glad to hear from you, Ikari! Happy New Year and congratulations to you and your family!

Hey Ikari, i understand you as i’m a father since 11 months… congrats and health for everyone !
Even if sd2snes implement sa1, superfx, etc… in a few years it’s great for me, i don’t have your programmation skills but i’m patient 😉

Thanks again for your amazing work 🙂

Congrats on becoming a father! I too recently became a father, so i can understand the time drain that occurs.

Im so happy to hear that you will be implementing a few “easier” features.
I will keep my fingers crossed for a cheat engine.

As far as low-hanging fruit, how about the OBC-1? You called it a no-brainer so it might be a nice easy way to build some momentum.

Am trying to play around with the firmware source code (src/ dir) but when I copy it over to my SD2SNES the LEDs panic. It works fine if I use the old firmware tho. Do I have to compile and use the other stuff too just to change some stuff in firmware.img ?

*prays gg support is considered low hanging fruit*

Regardless grats on the kid and hope for some great updates this year!

If I wanted to just compile a new firmware.img do I also have to recompile the snes menu and fpga files too?

Excellent! Can’t wait for the newest update, whatever the content is.

Hi Ikari,
Congrats on the new addition!
I’d like to echo what some others are saying:
Cheat support, getting back to the sd2snes menu in game and real time save would all be very nice additions!

I’ve heard that SA1 is going to be hard, so that’s not a “low hanging fruit”, and the CX4 and DSP chips are already supported, so that only leaves a few chips. You’ve already mentioned the OBC-1. The S-DD1 and SPC7110 are data compression chips so that’s pretty low hanging. Would be nice to play Far East of Eden Zero in english on real hardware.

If I knew the first thing about FPGA programming I’d take a crack at the code. Maybe I’ll study up on it. Where would one even get started?

18 months and still no update :(. I can understand you are busy but we people have paid Alot of money for this cart and after 18 months not even a small update that makes me sad.

Don’t ignore this post please.

I had a look at Github, that’s great.

Thanks a lot for all your work

Wow, lots of progress! The upcoming release will be something to look forward to. 😀

ikari, feel free to drop me a line (via e-mail or snesfreaks PM) in case you plan on adding GameGenie support in the future and want/need advice and/or assistance. 🙂
